THE Netherlands-based fish feed company, Coppens International bv, has announced that it has been awarded ISO 22000 certification.
They explain in a press release: “We already possessed the ISO 9001 certificate for quality management which guarantees current and potential customers a highly efficient service and a product of excellent nutritional quality, delivered on time to our customers, with an excellent after sales service. Now, since October 2009, Coppens International bv is ISO 22000 certified.” The ISO 22000 certificate is an extended version of the ISO 9001 certificate with food safety management. ISO 22000 is an international standard that defines the requirements of a food safety management system covering all steps in the food chain. Coppens International is certified for the development, processing, sales and distribution of feeds for aquaculture and aquarists. The spokesperson continued: “At Coppens we think the European fish market is increasingly more demanding and aquaculture produced fish industry suppliers must be ready to meet these demands. The certification forms part of the company's sustainable development and growth strategy. It is a clear commitment to quality, the environment and food safety.” Coppens International bv was established in 1993. From the start the company’s sole focus was on aquatic feeds and remains so. Their experienced fish feed specialists develop high-quality, innovative fish feed programmes for almost every species of farmed fish in all their development stages. For many years, Coppens has also been recognised as an important player in the ornamental fish sector. The latest development is Coppens’ dedication to producing angling feed pellets and hookable baits. |
