MERCATOR Media Ltd, organiser of the Offshore Mariculture Conference 2010, is pleased to announce that the Conference Programme has now been released. 

The two day technical conference will be held on the 16 & 17 June at the Hilton Imperial Hotel, Dubrovnik, Croatia and will be followed by a visit to a Sea bass and Sea bream fish farm on the 18 June 2010.

Chaired by Arne Fredheim of CREATE/Sintef, the 2010 Offshore Mariculture Conference Programme will include presentations on key policy and research updates by prestigious speakers from EATiP, FAO and NOAA.  Papers on practical offshore farming operations – feeding, preventing escapes, health issues - updates on manufacturers’ latest products, spatial planning and monitoring and future technologies will be included.  In addition case studies from international fish farmers and from Croatian fish famers – Kali Tuna, Atlantis Group and Riba Mljet - will feature on the packed programme.

Supported by the European Aquaculture Society, European Aquaculture Technology & Innovation Platform, the Federation of European Aquaculture Producers, the Global Aquaculture Alliance, Dansk Akvakultur and HGK, Grupacija akvakulture, the aquaculture affiliation of the Croatian Chamber of Economy (and member of FEAP), members of these associations will enjoy a discount off the delegate rate.

The Conference is aimed at farming companies, research organisations and suppliers looking to update themselves on the latest policies, products, research and case studies within the fin/shell fish and seaweed offshore farming industries. The specific focus on Croatia will enable Government officials from farming nations to learn how they can adapt Croatia's successful spatial planning policy into their own Ministries of Fisheries/Environment and Tourism. International farming companies and suppliers looking to enter/invest in the Croatian market will also be in attendance.
