ASSOCIATED Seafoods Ltd (ASL) has been selected as a finalist at the Grampian Food Forum Innovation Awards for a new high end smoked salmon product.
The Buckie-based business made the Best New Foodservice Product shortlist for its Fillet Royale – a premium cut of Scottish smoked salmon taken from the centre of the fillet. These prime fillets are dry-cured with sea salt before being gently smoked for many hours.
Fillet Royale has proved particularly popular among ASL’s export customers, including in key markets such as the Middle East.
Henry Angus, ASL’s commercial director, said: “We are delighted to have made the shortlist in Grampian Food Forum Innovation Awards. Fillet Royale is fantastic tasting Scottish smoked salmon that is proving really popular with our customers who enjoy its fine flavour and succulence.”
The winners will be announced at an awards ceremony at the Ardoe House Hotel, near Aberdeen, on 24 March.
